Inspired by architectural aspects, intricate details, and subtle elements of photography that are not necessarily noticed at first glance, the goal has been to challenge the traditional design language of a recognizable, everyday piece of furniture.
The starting point immediately appears as an ordinary three-legged stool with a round seat. The round seat serves as a geometric focal point that unites the various rectangular planes. By twisting the construction through the way the different legs meet the seat, a unique dynamic and spatial tension is created—one that keeps the viewer's eye constantly moving.
The materiality and the inherent qualities of the wood play a central role in the overall expression. There is a deliberate play on grain direction, with the lines running diagonally across the construction.
This breaks with expected lines, adds an extra visual element, and creates an intriguing ambiguity around how the components are actually assembled.
